Together with Monaco Frame, I turn concepts into distinctive images. Based in Munich, working across Germany and internationally – from a small crew to a full-scale production.
Looking for a cinematographer or a film production team in Munich? As Director of Photography, I handle camerawork, lighting and visual storytelling for commercials, corporate films, event videos and social content. With Monaco Frame, we can also manage the entire production from concept to post-production.
From automotive and fashion to industry and medicine: I immerse myself in each project. I am interested in the people behind the brand and the stories that shape it. Together, we find the images that make them visible.
An event film with a small crew, social-media clips with creators or a major campaign: we assemble the right team, stay close to your idea and create something worth sharing.
From commercials and social content to AI-assisted film production, we develop an approach that fits your brand. AI-generated imagery and motion can complement live-action shoots or create entirely new visual worlds. Story, visual coherence and careful execution always come first.
My project experience spans global brands such as Apple, Audi, BMW, Allianz, Telekom and PAYBACK, as well as Dethleffs, Energie Südbayern (ESB), the German Red Cross (DRK) and many more.

I’m Maximilian Rödl, an independent cinematographer and Director of Photography (DoP) based in Munich. Since 2014, I have worked with agencies, brands and film productions, bringing twelve years of experience to commercials, corporate films and narrative projects. Sometimes I’m the videographer on a small shoot; other times I’m part of a large camera team. Great images and good collaboration matter equally to me.
As a founding member of Monaco Frame, I support projects from the first idea to the final film. You work with one dedicated contact and a team tailored to your production. We keep our focus on what matters: your goals, the story and a result we can all be proud of.
I want to make authentic films that people enjoy watching and remember. Visually compelling, creatively told and technically precise. From the outset, we consider the concept, cinematography, edit and final platforms – whether a film, a few social assets or accompanying photography.
In 2014, I graduated with a diploma from the Bavarian Academy of Film and Television. Productions and shoots across Europe, the Americas, Morocco and Asia have since shaped my perspective.
I own a broad range of camera, lens and lighting equipment. It is an option, not a limitation. The creative vision and project requirements determine which tools we use.
Whether it is my own gear, Monaco Frame’s equipment or a custom package from our Munich rental partners, we choose a setup that fits – with up-to-date tools and experience spanning ARRI to Sony, from small shoots to large sets.
Crew size and equipment shape both production and budget. We plan accordingly: carefully chosen teams, the right tools and clear processes, from preparation to execution – practical, efficient and always focused on the result.
